How much does it cost to move to Germany?

As we have more than 40 vans and lorries at our disposal we can offer all-week door-to-door moving services in the European Union. The moving costs depend on volume and distance, hence local moving will always be cheaper than long-distance moving. If you plan on relocating a few household goods, you can use our part load service, which is 5, 10 or 15  cubic meters.

To give you some idea about the costs of moving from the UK to France, we prepared some quotes from and to the biggest cities in both countries. All of the prices are final – they already include the customs fee and other applicable taxes.

    • Part-load: 5m3 – £909, 10m3 – £1129 , 15m3 – £1519

Removal services to Germany – how long does it take?

Usually, the delivery from the UK to Germany takes one or two days. However, every move is different, so the duration depends on a variety of factors. Long-distance moving will always take longer than local moving. Also, home moving (full load options – 20 and 30 cubic meters) will take less time than small removals, as it does not require additional stops. Your preparation is crucial as well – if you pack your valuables professionally, it will take less time for our polite driver to load them. Remember that you can always count on the driver – he will help you to load and unload the goods. However, if the collection or delivery takes place in the self-storage, make sure you arrange for somebody to assist our driver.

Bear in mind that we do not offer full-service moving, so it does not include packing service or storage facilities. Yet, our professionalism in transporting goods and the low price are worth making some effort to pack and unpack your belongings by yourself.

Please note that all times mentioned are subject to terms and conditions.

Moving to Germany with MyCheapRemovals

We do our best to make your move as hassle-free as possible.

  1. Firstly, you have to find out the total volume of the goods you want to remove. We have five volume options in our offer – 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 cubic meters. Years of experience in the removal industry allowed us to learn that those volumes are most common for house or flat removals. Please be aware that 5, 10 and 15 cubic meters options are ‘shared services’ which means that your belongings will travel with other customers’ goods. You can fill out the inventory list or check our volume guide to find out what volume you require.
  2. Use our simple form, or call our customer service team on 01942 409 822, 01942 938 222 or 01942 409 821 to get the quote. Requesting is free and has no obligation. You will receive an email with quotes including other available volume options – you can compare prices for smaller or bigger options in case you need some more (or less) loading space. Once you decide on the volume of your shipment, you can use the email with the quote to book a relocation service and secure the van and date.
  3. One of our customer service representatives will contact you to talk about the moving details: date and time of collection and delivery. We will stay in touch with you to update you on the progress of the removal process. If you have an urge to contact us on loading and unloading, we will be available.
  4. Our polite driver will arrive at the scheduled time to help you with loading and will stay one hour on the destination to give you a helping hand with unloading. If you think you may require more time please let us know in advance – we can arrange it with an additional small fee of £20 per hour. Please bear in mind that we do not offer packing services, so packing, unpacking, buying packing materials and securing your furniture, antiques and fragile items is your responsibility.

Follow us on social media – from time to time we offer amazing discounts for our services. Save up to £175!

A few interesting facts about Germany
  1. The capital of Berlin has more bridges than Venice – Berlin boasts 960 bridges and 59.8 square kilometres of water consisting of lakes and around 180 kilometres of navigable waterways. Combined with its surrounding state Brandenburg, it houses Europe’s largest inland water network
  2. College education in Germany is free even for internationals – tuition fees for bachelor’s degrees in public universities were abolished in 2014 due to politicians thinking that having to pay for higher education as ‘socially unjust’.
  3. German remains the language with the most native speakers in Europe – besides Germany having the largest population in the EU, the German language was once the lingua franca of central, eastern and northern Europe.
  1. Germany is sometimes known as ‘the land of poets and thinkers’ – or das land de dichter und denker; Bach, Beethoven and Goethe were all German, alongside composers Händel, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Wagner and R. Strauss. Some of the world’s greatest German philosophers include Kant, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and Heidegger.
  2. Berlin’s Zoologischer Garten is the largest zoo in the world – Germany also boasts more than 400 registered zoos. Including zoological gardens, wildlife parks, aquariums, bird parks, animal reserves, and safari parks total, Germany has nearly 700 facilities.
  3. Munich’s Oktoberfest is the world’s biggest folk festival – and there’s rather a lot of beer there, too. Despite its name, the Oktoberfest festival actually starts in the last week of September.
